the amazing Classic Car Show in June, Carnival Excitement is building and we
continue with events in July.
Monday 20th July is the date for the North Norfolk Classic Vehicle Club Show ‘n’ Shine Charity Night.
Then comes an action packed weekend starting with The Harley Davidson Rideout on Saturday July 25th - come and see all the gleaming machines and listen to their throaty roar as they descend on Sheringham. Apparently they love coming here and say that Sheringham is the friendliest town they have visited! Give them a wave when they leave town around 3.30pm/4pm.
Sunday 26th July heralds the RAFT RACE (12.30). For once, this is in advance of carnival week to give us a better chance of a re-run in the (unlikely) event of the RNLI having to cancel it if the sea is too rough. We hope everyone has been building their rafts, maybe enter them in the Parade as well?
Just before the raft race, there will be a very exciting THREE PLANE FORMATION (noon) which you will be able to see from anywhere along the prom and which promises to be a "heart in your mouth" moment.
Well that's the Sea and Sky covered; what's happening on Land?
The carnival caravan will be out in town and we have a special raffle for you - A 50-50 RAFFLE, that means half of the takings go to the carnival and half go to a WINNER. For just £1 outlay you could, potentially, win as much as £500. (Obviously, that is not guaranteed, it depends on how many tickets we sell!) The 50-50 Raffle will be on Sunday July 26th and then will run every day of Carnival Week (1st to 9th August).
At the caravan you will be able to buy Duck Race Numbers, quiz sheets - Stranger in the Window, Town Photo Quiz, Town Treasure Trail and a new one for this year entitled Anagrams!
Tickets will be available for Breaking The Tunny Fish Code (2 dates in September), The Carnival Masquerade Ball (3rd October) and the Adults Only Drag Queen Show.
Friday 31st July sees two events. First, The PRINCE AND PRINCESS SELECTION DISCO which is at the Community Centre at the NEW time of 2pm till 4pm.
Second, we have an ADULTS ONLY DRAG QUEEN SHOW 9pm at The Tyneside Club. This was extremely funny last year but this year there will be five drag queens and who knows what will happen!
Tickets can be obtained from the Carnival Caravan for all events or by calling 01263 823546.
Then follows Carnival Week 1st to 9th August. Join in with the week long Scarecrow Trail and vote for your favourite scarecrow. Lots of activities, including Crowning of the Queen & Attendants and Prince & Princess, dog show, street races, parade, steam train, zumbathon, torchlight procession, fireworks and more.
Full details are in the Carnival Programme which is available from a number of outlets:
Carnival Caravan, Bertram A Watts, Blyth & Wright, Blooming Blooms,
Barney's, Whistlestop, Starlings, Sheringham Tourist Information Centre,
Cromer Tourist Information Centre and Baby O in Bull Street, Holt.
15th August - Take part in The Three Peaks (NORFOLK!) Challenge (a great
way to fund raise for your favourite local organisation or charity
