Grants available for AONB projects

Do you funding to get your local project off the ground? Will your project positively benefit the landscape of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)? If so, keep reading…

In 2017-18 the Norfolk Coast Sustainable Development Fund (SDF) will once again be available to support projects which look after the AONB. A grant of between 500 and 5,000 may just be that final piece of funding you need to do your project.

Kate Dougan, who administers the fund, said “We are looking for projects in the AONB which promote sustainable development. In other words, they should promote the health and well-being of the environment, people and economy, now and into the future.”

She went on to say “Ideas are warmly welcomed from local community groups, parish councils and individuals. Over the past 12 years we have supported over 60 recipients providing over 450,000 of grants and this has brought fantastic benefits to the Norfolk Coast. We look forward to continuing this in 2017-18.”
A wide variety of projects can be considered, so long as they fulfil the criteria for the scheme. Previous projects have included pond restoration, landscape heritage, school wild spaces and equipment for traditional industries (reed-cutting and blacksmithing).

If you have an idea, start by looking at the Sustainable Development Fund pages on the Norfolk Coast Partnership website: http://bit.ly/1ZMKPI7 where you will find more information.
