Sheringham & District Branch The Royal British Legion

Sheringham Branch Member, Kerri Clarke ran the London Marathon in 2017, finished it in 6hrs 5mins, which considering the length of time the toilet stops took is a very good time, and raised money for The Royal British Legion.  What they call a Win, Win, situation.

Kerri Clarke London Marathon 2017 for RBL

On the day Kerri was supported very well by both family, friends and the Royal British Legion.  The day was spent racing across London trying to get to the next significant marker before she got there, not always successfully!

At the end of the run, Kerri actually appeared to be fresher than those of us who had been spectators.  It was worth the trip though, as the support from the public and the atmosphere of the whole day was very special.

As you will note from the photos below, at times it was 'A walk in the Park'!

Kerri says: "I have been a member of the RBL for over 15 years and consider it a vital charity for the support of British Service Personnel and their dependents at home and overseas. Please help me raise as much as I can for them. Thank you, no donation is too small. All appreciated!"

"Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to The Royal British Legion.  Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations that you are able to make".

Kerri has been fundraising for the past year, as those running have to raise a minimum of 2,000.  She is pleased to tell us that she not only reached this target, but her total now stands at just over 3400 and she is continuing to fundraise, hoping to reach 4000.
