RNLI Lifeboats LogoYour RNLI needs you

The RNLI is a huge organisation operating in the Coastal waters of Britain and Ireland.

It continues to save lives at sea because of donations from the public (95% of the total income comes from this source) and from Volunteers (95% of RNLI people are volunteers). There are 4,700 lifeboat crew and 3,000 shore crew and these volunteers can continue to operate because of the 20,000 Volunteer Fundraisers and thousands of others who help in Museums, Shops and Offices

In Sheringham we have upwards of 50 volunteers running the local RNLI station which includes two retail outlets, one at the Lifeboat Boathouse on the sea shore and the other in the High Street. Linda, the new manager of our High Street Shop in the heart of Town said “Although we have a great team of volunteers we find ourselves in need of further assistance in both of the Sheringham Shops”. We are looking for anyone with a keen interest in the RNLI who would like to welcome visitors, particularly at the Boathouse Shop with its seaside atmosphere, promote the RNLI with the added enjoyment of serving customers in the two local successful Shops.

Your commitment can be as little or as much as you feel you can give to this very worthy cause, from weekly or monthly or just when gaps appear in the Shop Rotas.

Wendy, who runs the Boathouse shop, said “It’s a real privilege to spend time down by the sea and welcome the public into the boathouse and send them on their way with a souvenir that reminds them of their visit and at the same time raise funds for this most worthy of causes”.
