North Norfolk Photographic Society

The membership of North Norfolk Photographic Society (NoNoPS) continues to increase and the Society is now nearly half-way through another successful season. NoNoPS held their annual ‘Portfolio Competition’ on Wednesday 5th December. In a crowded Holt Community Centre, Judge Joy Hancock had the unenviable task of assessing 69 Prints and 33 Slides - presented in groups of 3 as a panel. The pictures were judged individually and as a ‘matching’ panel out of a possible 50 marks. The standard - both of the pictures and of the judging - was high.

The Prints section was won by Jane Harper with a panel entitled ‘Dogs’ which came in for special praise from Judge Joy. Second was Richard Kelham (‘Smile Please’) and third Brian Singleton (‘Arctic Scenes’).

Roland Riddell won the Slides group - with his 3 photos of squirrels. Second was John Cucksey (’Birds of the Farne Islands’) and third Judy Knights (’Close Encounters of the Flower Kind’).

The Society now has a Christmas Break and returns at 7.30 on 9th January for a talk ’Through my Eyes’ by Gordon Follows ARPS. For further details see the Society’s website: nonops.org.
