DRAG RACING
Easter Weekend sees the 2008 Drag Racing season begin at Santa Pod Raceway
in Bedfordshire & for the 1st time in many seasons, Flitcham based dragster driver
Marius Blackburn will be sitting on the sidelines. His & Chris Grays V8 Ford engined
1923 Ford Model T sustained substantial damage last season & the self financed team
have been unable to secure sufficient funding to race this year.

"It's bitterly disappointing to not be racing, its something we have
been doing as a team (G&B Racing) since 1986, making our team one of the
"oldest" out there. We've been actively searching for sponsorship via flyers,
the internet & also our website (g-bracing.co.uk), but have come up with nothing yet.
We are prepared to consider any offers at this point, its surprising how little could make
a difference to us. Ideally, if we had somebody to pay our race entry fees or fuel bills
for a race or two this would help offset the expense of repairing the car. The majority of
the work to repair the car has already been carried out & we could easily complete the
rebuild before the Main Event this May IF somebody we're to step forward with some
funding. We are not talking huge sums of money here (we already spent that fixing it!),
not even four figures if we are lucky enough to get a couple of sponsors on board"
says Marius." In return for any support we can offer advertising on the sides of both
our eye-catching race car, on our transporter, in local press before and after each event
as we always submit reports, also our website & through various internet &
worldwide motorsport magazines."
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank John Mack Haulage at East Dereham,
Engine Engineering at Gt. Yarmouth, USAutoparts at Acle & Norfolk A2Z of Sheringham
for their continued support at this time & we hope to repay their loyalty with some
decent results in the future."
