OVERWHELMING RESPONSE TO OUR APPEAL FOR TERESA

Back in issue 13 we told the story of young Teresa Bellingham aged four who was born with Cerebral Palsy and Diabetes. Her parents Liz and James are trying to raise the money to take Teresa to a therapy centre in Somerset called Brainwaves. Here she will be able to have treatments such a physiotherapy, musical keys, horse riding and colour and light therapy, all of which will be of great benefit to her and allow her quality of life to improve. The initial 2 day assessment who allow her parents to learn how to help her at home, so although she would need to return to Brainwaves regularly in between visits her parents could keep up the work. At over 400 a time, it is understandable that they need help to achieve this.

Sheringham Community Paper Regular patrons of The Red Hart in Bodham are avid fundraisers and on Saturday 17th May they handed over a massive 400 donation to Teresa. They run a Lottery Bonus Ball Competition every week and 19 of this is saved up and donated to charities and worthy causes. Having read our article they decided to help to get Teresa to Brainwaves. Landlord, Craig, is also currently organising a sponsored Parachute Jump in aid of the Big 'C' in October, which will take place at Old Buckenham Airfield. Sheringham Community Paper

Along with the donation from the pub, Teresa also received a personel donation from a lady who did not want to be named. Another local lady gave her a beautiful hand-knitted doll, which as you can see was a great success. We know the the Tyneside Club have also already raised some money for Teresa and are continuing to fundraise over the next couple of months - we will let you know what events they are holding.
