Since Norfolk Entertainments purchased St Peter's Church
Hall, now renamed "The Waterbank Centre", a head of steam has been generated as
work began preparing for the new children's play barn. Anyone who has passed the
"building site" recently, will know that it is currently not a suitable place
for children to play! However the renovations and plans are on schedule and all fingers
are crossed that "Let off Steam" will be open during the Easter holiday period.
The designs reflect the character of the town with steam railway and seaside themes. The
aim is to be open everyday, even during term time, when pre school children will be able
to play at quieter times and primary school children can visit after school at a reduced
fee. |

The play barn will offer younger children's parties with food provided to
make it easier, if required. Alternatively, you can book a laser party for up to 20 older
children in the early evenings on a Monday to Saturday. When not pre-booked a week ahead
for laser parties, it is proposed to run a laser club that can be booked on a first come
first served basis by individuals or smaller groups up to a total of 10 children for a
half hour session. Bookings can be taken now for parties from May onward by ringing 01263
823100.
Adults have not been forgotten. Drinks and light refreshments will be available in more
relaxed surroundings whilst the children let off steam and excess energy. Children under
three can be more closely supervised by their parents, in a soft play area away from the
more bouncy older children.
So keep watching the site and remember, when the work stops the play can really begin. |
